Workshop "Road safety in Greece: from the past the future"

Our workshop, organized by Unisteel Ltd and Uniworks P.C. was held with great success on 13 December 2017 in Athens’ Titania Hotel, with the theme: "Road safety in Greece: from the past ... in the future".

The workshop aimed at informing and acquainting all participating stakeholders with the context of the rapid developments in road safety today.

Our event was organized on the occasion of the successful conclusion of the official crash tests of a new road safety barrier, which led to the certification of a revolutionary and globally patented one-sided steel safety barrier, which is inserted into the intersection of an embankment with the ground’s surface.

During the conference, our distinguished local and international speakers developed a variety of interesting topics. 

The main speakers were:

  • Panaretos Konstantinos, owner of the Unisteel and Uniworks;
  • Makris Dionysios, General Director, General Secretariat for Transport Infrastructure;
  • Papantoniou Panagiotis, Special Secretary, National Association of Transportation Engineers;
  • Professor Psarianos Vassilios, Director of the Transport Engineering Laboratory, NTUA;
  • Sigalas Ioannis, Overseas Projects Director, Kalliergos S.A.;
  • Sakkas Simeon, Race Consulting Engineers;

A special honor for us was the participation of Mr. Fausto Mozzarelli, on behalf of CSI Certification & Testing, an independent international certification organization and Mr. Diamandouros Konstantinos, Head of Office, European Road Federation (ERF). Mr. Ippokratis Theodorou, Deputy Project Manager of the Apion Kleos Joint Venture presented their experience from the Olympia Odos motorway while Lekkos Dimitrios, Kourlis Kyriakos, Kolia Niki, Matsis Ioannis and Kintis Angelos, all members of Unisteel Ltd and Uniworks P.C., introduced the company's newest product portfolio.

The event was attended by representatives of major national construction companies, contractors, representatives of technical departments of various administrative regions, representatives of public bodies involved with road safety and international Unisteel associates.

The purpose of the workshop was to promote and disseminate key data and conclusions on road safety that can be derived from the experience of the participants. and to highlight the necessity of securing all national and provincial roads in Greece.
